Choices we make

I can't believe it is March already! Where has the time gone? We have not had it particularly harsh here in lovely Victoria, but already it seems to have lasted a long time. I guess seeing the early cherry blossoms has tainted my view of winter.

This past weekend I was feeling a bit, well, like nesting I guess. I had it in my mind lately to have some lamb stew but the time never seemed right. Then, as the idea kept coming up again and again - someone asked for lamb at the butcher, I saw a lovely recipe on one of the food blogs I follow - I decided to just do it. This past weekend seemed like as good a time as any. So I rode my bike to the butcher and got 2 lamb shanks and went to it.
Lamb Stew
It has been quite a long time since I had lamb stew so am sure why I even had the cravings. However, I am quite pleased with the results and feel all warm and cozy because of it.  Nothing like a thick, warm stew on a wet winter's eve. I used buckwheat instead of the more traditional barley to try and reduce the amount of gluten in our oh-so-sensitive bodies/diet - and ... I like it!

Another random choice I made on the weekend was to try printing some of my photos on canvas. London Drugs had a sale of large canvas prints. I picked them up today and was also pleased with the results.  I tried 2 of my recent photos and here they are:

Orders can be placed by emailing me directly.  No, really! Hahaha.
