Snow in Victoria
Yes, it's true, it did snow in Victoria. Big time. And, I might add, unusually so.
And as a follow-up to our earlier entry, I feel compelled to point out just how beautiful Victoria is under a blanket of snow. Just look at the cherry blossoms! I think they feel comforted and just know they will be there tomorrow (or whenever this cold snap ends).
And then there is our little Oscar. He definitely feels the love. Oscar knows he'll need that blanket of snow to keep warm for the remainder of the week.
Oh, and I personally got to make a very special fashion statement today. Since I chose to wear my Hunter boots for my walk to/from work, I needed an extra layer between my tights and the boots. So I got the pleasure of wearing my favourite Hornby Island Co-op socks!
They make me smile.

New PJs for Pete
Suffice it to say, it was time to replace Peter's holey PJs. He refers to them as 'house pants' most days, but since they are soft flannel and covered with red and blue skiers (getting pretty good air, I might add), I call them PJs. They suited him somehow, but the increasing thinness at the back was getting a little weird.
So, l
However, it was taking more time than I expected (go figure), what with all the pinning and unpinning, then there's the ironing the seams flat. Oh, and of course, pinking the seam allowances! So after a tea break, I went back at it. Then the machine started acting funny. It would keep running on after I released the foot peddle and wouldn't let me turn the handle manually. I fiddled around with it a bit and then ran out of bobbin thread. After I replaced the bobbin, it was never the same. I couldn't go for more than an inch without a big jam of thread on the underside and the fabric feed wouldn't go anywhere. So, after the dinner break, I called Mary Jane and asked to borrow her machine tonight. I hope to finish the PJs on Sunday.
