Spring and Large Moons and Lunch

Friday I was pretty inspired by Peter's news concerning his medication and thought I would bring home some Spring flowers for us to enjoy. Or maybe it was the upcoming largest spring equinox moon in 18 years. In any case, I bought flowers.

Then, on Saturday we decided to go to the Victoria Public Market held at Market Square. It was a sunny day and we wandered around for a bit. We had a nice chat with two brothers from the Salt Spring Island Cheese Company, sampled their beautiful cheese selection and bought some of their Chèvre (soft goat cheese) and the Montaña (hard cheese) to take home.

Saturday evening I decided to start some of my favourite low touch bread, simply because we needed something to eat with the cheese!
Then on Sunday morning we invited Frank and Mary Jane over to share in our feast. While I was preparing the bread we stuck in a few heads of last years garlic crop to roast in the oven while it warmed up. Cuz, ya just know that will be good on fresh bread too!

The feast was rounded off with a rather amazing fresh fruit salad that we threw together with fruit all bought on sale at our favourite green grocer ... strawberries, kiwis, raspberries, green grapes, papaya, honeydew melon and pineapple. No additives needed. To die for!
What a way to spend a Sunday. Time for a rest now.

Nice spread! Wish we could've been there and helped out.
