It just doesn't get any better!

We're home!
After a short flight to the soccer pitch and two days of organizational behavior meetings with Geoff
, followed by a few days in the big city immersing ourselves in neuroscience learning about Schema Therapy, Social Learning and Emotional Organizations (Why you wonder? Because Judith says, it will make me more effective at "work", or maybe it was just out of intellectual curiosity) followed by food shopping for everything gourmet we cannot get locally including a cake (thanks to Jules) from an "Authentic Italian Bakery" (as shown on the box) we're back on the rock!

A couple things happened along the way.... We stayed at BDL's, that is short for "Boris.Dean.Liz.com" We actually stayed at BDL's east side cultural "city home" which is off the drive and close to everything tasty! The one thing about staying at BDL's is the conversation (which is always interesting to say the least, Dean is an insider at city hall, and Liz, I believe Liz has her hand in more things than Judith, including beautification of the city and making sure people know what a good cup of espresso really tastes like!)
BDL also have the same taste in wine as Judith and off course anything and everything edible, and I mean "everything" is made from scratch at there place.
Judith tells me there is never any need to leave BDL's house other than for more wine!
All very much appreciated and we highly recommend
imposing on them when you are in the city!

I know you're all wondering about these people after I mentioned the "city home" Well once and awhile you meet some people that just have everything, and I mean everything, and that is alright in this case because in our opinion they deserve it, and more.
So the story goes like this, BDL also have an estate (and I mean "estate"), on the west side near the university, which they stay at to do social research and round out their sons education. When they feel the need to get in touch with the upper middle/ upper class they head over to their westside estate. "Dean says it helps him with his work at the city to really understand the people, their needs, and get him inside to figure out why they strive for a homogenized life where the gardens are manicured, the children play inside, and the streets are patrolled by private security". He tries to really look at it from there prospective and understand there need for fear and entitlement. He feels that the city has a role to play in eliminating the pain and suffering he sees being chauffeured to school every morning. Dean is a real forward thinker, and by doing simple things like introducing street hockey and tag to the west side children he is making a big impact. I am sure he will win an award someday for his work.
It is nice to see them really getting in touch with how the other people live and how thoughtful they are exposing their son to the west side lifestyle as painful as it can be to see sometimes. Being good parents I am sure they spend lots of energy explaining the hardships and stress around leased luxury vehicles, unhealthy relationships, broken homes, and workaholism! And compared to the fresh food, interesting people, and social/economic/racial diversity in the inner city community of the east side I am sure he is getting the education every parent wants for there children seeing the other side of the tracks so they can make informed choices for themselves as they entry adulthood.
